The OmniLog™ Lateral Profile is created with an automated computer algorithm that evaluates 20,000+ potential locations and determines the ideal perf locations that result in minimal deviation of rock strength in each stage. Once the Omni Log Profile is created, Domain experts on the D2F team evaluate the data and finesse changes based on experienced interpretations.
By mapping the relative strength of rock across a stage and aligning that map with an accurate depth correction, the D2F lateral profile can be used to place perf clusters in a way that only stimulates rock of similar strength. By lining up perf clusters with rock of similar strength, the frac energy and proppant is directed toward rock of uniform rock strength within each stage. The end result maximizes the amount of stimulated rock and minimizes gaps of non-stimulated rock. In addition, this process will minimize the number of run-away dominant fracs which are a key cause of frac hits on parent wells.
